  • 1 box German chocolate cake mix
  • 1 (14 oz.) bag caramels
  • 1/2 c. evaporated milk
  • 3/4 c. butter
  • 2 c. chopped nuts
  • 1 c. chocolate chips

Directions

    Prepare cake mix according to directions.

    Pour 1/2 of batter in a 9 x 13-inch pan and bake at 350° for 15 minutes. Melt caramels in butter and milk over low heat, stirring constantly. On cake that has baked 15 minutes sprinkle 1 cup nuts, chocolate chips and pour caramel mix over this.

    Pour remaining batter and sprinkle with last cup of nuts.

    Bake 20 minutes more.
