- 1 (14 oz.) pkg. vanilla caramels
- 2/3 c. evaporated milk, divided
- 1 box German chocolate cake mix
- 3/4 c. softened margarine
- 1 c. chopped nuts
- 12 oz. semi-sweet chocolate chips
Directions

1Combine caramels and 1/3 cup milk over low heat; stir until melted.

2Combine cake mix, 1/3 cup milk, margarine and nuts. Press half of mixture into greased 13 x 9-inch pan. Bake 6 minutes at 350°.

3Remove from oven and sprinkle chocolate pieces on top. Pour on caramel evenly.

4Crumble remaining cake mixture on top and bake at 350° for 15 to 20 minutes.

5Cool and cut into bars.
