Turtle Chocolate Brownies

  • 1 (14 oz.) pkg. vanilla caramels
  • 2/3 c. evaporated milk, divided
  • 1 box German chocolate cake mix
  • 3/4 c. softened margarine
  • 1 c. chopped nuts
  • 12 oz. semi-sweet chocolate chips

Directions

    Combine caramels and 1/3 cup milk over low heat; stir until melted.

    Combine cake mix, 1/3 cup milk, margarine and nuts. Press half of mixture into greased 13 x 9-inch pan. Bake 6 minutes at 350°.

    Remove from oven and sprinkle chocolate pieces on top. Pour on caramel evenly.

    Crumble remaining cake mixture on top and bake at 350° for 15 to 20 minutes.

    Cool and cut into bars.
