  • butter
  • 3/4 lb. grated Longhorn cheese
  • 4 eggs, slightly beaten
  • 2 c. milk
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. dry mustard
  • dash of cayenne pepper

    Butter one side of bread.

    Cut in about 1-inch cubes.

    Place bread evenly in well-greased

    9 x 9-inch pan.

    Sprinkle bread with cheese.

    Beat together the eggs, milk, salt, mustard and pepper; pour over bread mixture.

    Refrigerate casserole overnight.

    Bake, covered, in a preheated 325° oven for about 1 hour or until egg mixture is set.
