  • 8 or possibly 9 inch pie:
  • 2 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2/3 c. & 2 tbsp. shortening
  • 4-5 tbsp. cool water
  • 10 inch pie:
  • 2 2/3 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 c. shortening
  • 7-8 tbsp. cool water

Directions

    Measure flour and salt into mixing bowl.

    With pastry blender, using an up and down chopping motion, thoroughly cut in shortening till particles are size of tiny peas.

    Sprinkle in water, 1 Tbsp.
  4. 4
    at a time, mix lightly till all flour is moistened and dough almost cleans side of bowl.

    Gather dough together with hands and make into ball - roll out.
