- 1/2 cup cocoa
- 23 cup light brown sugar
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon instant coffee
- 3 cups milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Heavy cream or whipped cream
Directions

1Mix cocoa, brown sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon and instant coffee together in a heavy saucepan.

2Gradually whisk in the milk.

3Place over medium heat and cook slowly, whisking constantly, until the mixture comes to a boil and thickens; add the vanilla.

4Transfer to a serving dish or individual goblets or bowls and cover by placing plastic wrap directly on the surface.

5Allow to cool until just warm or refrigerate until ready to serve.

6Serve with heavy cream or whipped cream.
