- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
- 2 c. flour
- 1 Tbsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. celery seed
- 1 (10 oz.) can tomato soup
- 6 Tbsp. shortening
- 1 c. milk
Directions

1Brown onion and beef in iron skillet.

2Cook until crumbly but not hard.

3Drain grease well.

4Add seasonings and soup and simmer until thickened.

5Sift flour, baking powder and salt.

6Cut in shortening.

7Add milk and mix well.

8Pour batter over hot mixture in skillet.

9Put skillet into oven and bake at 450° for 15 minutes or until top is golden brown.

10Cover with warm serving plate. Invert and remove skillet.
