- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1/2 c. onion, chopped
- 1 Tbsp. shortening
- 1 c. kidney beans
- 1/4 tsp. chili powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. Worcestershire
- 1 c. cooked tomatoes
- 1/2 c. flour
- 3/4 c. cornmeal
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/2 c. milk
- 2 Tbsp. shortening
Directions

1Saute meat and onion in shortening.

2Add kidney beans, chili powder, salt, Worcestershire sauce and tomatoes.

3Simmer 15 minutes.

4Pour into casserole dish and top with cornmeal batter made by mixing remaining ingredients.

5Bake 20 minutes at 425°.
