- 1 (9-inch) pie shell, baked
- 1/2 c. sifted flour
- 2 c. milk, scalded
- 2 Tbsp. butter
- 1 c. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 egg yolks
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Directions

1Combine sugar, flour and salt and blend thoroughly.

2Stir in the scalded milk.

3Cook over moderate heat until mixture thickens. Continue to cook about 2 minutes.

4Pour some of the mixture over the slightly beaten egg yolk.

5Cook for 1 minute longer.

6Add butter and vanilla.

7Cook, pour into baked pie shell and top with meringue.

8Bake in a 375° oven.
