  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 1/3 c. flour
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 2 c. milk
  • 3 egg yolks, beaten
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1 pie crust
  • 2 c. meringue

Directions

    In a saucepan, mix sugar, flour and salt. Stir in milk.

    Cook until bubbly and stir for 2 minutes. Stir a portion of the hot mixture into egg yolks. Add to remaining hot mixture.

    Return to heat for 2 minutes. Add butter and vanilla.

    Pour into pie crust. Spread with a basic meringue and bake at 350° for 12 to 15 minutes.
