- 2 cups milk
- 1 None vanilla bean, halved lengthwise
- 4 None large egg yolks
- 4 tbsp sugar
Directions

1Gently heat milk and vanilla bean until it just starts to simmer. Immediately remove from heat. Remove vanilla bean and scrape seeds back into milk. Discard pod.

2Beat egg yolks and sugar until pale and thick. Gradually whisk in warm milk mixture. Return to saucepan. Cook over medium-low heat, stirring constantly, until custard coats the back of a wooden spoon. Remove from heat and transfer to a serving vessel.

3Serve warm or chilled.
