- 2 Tbsp. margarine
- 3 c. sugar
- 1/4 c. Karo syrup (dark or light)
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 c. light cream
- 1/2 c. milk
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. chopped nuts
Directions

1Place all ingredients, except vanilla and nuts, in saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until mixture boils. Continue cooking, stirring constantly, to soft ball stage (238°). Remove from heat.

2Add vanilla.

3Cool to lukewarm (110°).

4Then beat until fudge begins to thicken and loses its gloss.

5Pour in nuts.

6Quickly spread into an 8-inch square pan.

7Cool.

8Cut into squares.

9Makes about 2 pounds.

10If desired, add 1/4 cup candied maraschino cherries.
