  • 5 large eggs
  • 2 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. vanilla
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 5 c. milk
  • 4 c. (1 qt.) heavy cream or 4 c. Milnot
  • about 10 lb. crushed ice
  • about 4 c. rock salt

Directions

    In a large bowl, beat eggs until foaming.

    Beat in sugar, vanilla and salt until most of the sugar has dissolved.

    Add milk and cream.

    Stir until well mixed.

    Pour into a 4-quart ice cream freezer can.
