- 1/4 cup shortening
- 1 (28-ounce) can whole tomatoes, undrained
- Hot cooked rice
Directions

1Saute green pepper, celery, and onion in shortening in a large Dutch oven until tender. Add tomatoes. Reduce heat and simmer 1 hour, uncovered, stirring occasionally. Serve over rice.
