  • 12 medium onions, chopped
  • 12 pods green bell peppers, chopped
  • 12 ripe apples, chopped
  • 1/2 c. salt
  • 1 tsp. celery seed
  • 4 c. vinegar
  • 4 c. cabbage, chopped
  • 6 pods red bell pepper, chopped
  • 5 c. sugar
  • 2 tsp. mustard seed
  • 2 tsp. turmeric
  • 2 c. water

    Add salt to the vegetable mixture and mix well.

    Let stand for 3 or 4 hours.

    Drain well.

    Add sugar, vinegar, water and spices to vegetables.

    Boil for 3 minutes.

    Pack in jars and seal.
