  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 4 1/2 c. soft bread cubes
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 3/4 tsp. sage
  • 1/2 tsp. thyme
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 14 1/2 oz. can beef broth
  • fresh sliced mushrooms, if desired
  • 1/4 c. water and 2 Tbsp. cornstarch, mixed
