Ingredients

  • 2 lb. venison
  • 1/4 c. bacon drippings
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 c. chopped onion
  • 4 potatoes, quartered
  • 6 carrots, sliced
  • 1 green pepper, sliced
  • 2 c. celery, sliced
  • 3 Tbsp. flour

Directions

    Cut up the venison into 1-inch cubes.

    Saute in bacon drippings until browned on all sides.

    Add water to cover the meat, seasonings and onion.

    Simmer, covered, for 2 hours.

    Add vegetables and cook until carrots are tender.

    Dissolve flour in some water to make a thin paste and stir it into the stew.

    Cook for about 5 more minutes.
