- 3/4 cup shortening
- 3/4 cup margarine
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 4 eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 5 cups flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 2 teaspoons salt
Directions

1Mix thoroughly all ingredients.

2For drop cookies - place on cookie sheets and proceed with baking.

3For sugar cookies - chill dough at least 1 hour.

4Roll out to 1/2 inch thick on floured surface. Cut into desired shapes.

5Place on ungreased cookie sheets and bake 6-8 minutes at 350 degrees F. Bake until the bottom edges of the cookies are a very light shade of brown.

6Cool and frost with your favorite frosting.
