  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 c. sifted flour
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 c. milk
  • 2 c. cooked apple slices *

    Melt butter in 2-quart casserole.

    Combine next 6 ingredients to make batter; pour on butter.

    Drain apples; pile in center of batter.

    Bake in moderate oven (350°) until batter covers fruit and crust browns, 30 to 40 minutes.
