Directions

1Place first four dry ingredients in a large bowl.

2Separate yolks and whites of eggs into separate bowls.

3Beat egg yolks well, then add melted butter or oil.

4Pour liquid ingredients into dry ingredients.

5Combine with a few swift strokes.

6The batter will have a pebbled look.

7Beat until stiff, but not dry.

8Add the three egg whites and fold into batter until barely blended.
