Waldorf Chocolate Cake

  • 2 c. flour
  • 1 c. granulated sugar
  • 1/3 c. cocoa
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. cold water
  • 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 2/3 c. mayonnaise

Directions

    Preheat oven to 350°. Stir together, flour, sugar, cocoa, baking soda and salt. Add water, vanilla and mayonnaise. Beat at low speed until smooth.

    Turn into two greased and waxpaper lined 8 inch layer cake pans, or 1 greased and floured 9 inch square pan. Bake 30 minutes for 8 inch pans and 45 minutes for 9 inch pan. Cool completely before frosting.
