- 2 c. sugar
- 1 c. butter plus 1 tsp. butter flavoring
- 2 egg yolks
- 1 c. milk
- 2 sq. chocolate, melted
- 2 c. cake flour
- 1 c. nuts (optional)
- 1/2 pkg. yeast
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 egg white, beaten stiff
Directions

1Cream light and fluffy the sugar, butter and egg yolks.

2Add alternately the milk, chocolate, flour, vanilla and yeast.

3Fold in beaten egg whites.

4Place in refrigerator overnight; in the morning add 1 teaspoon soda dissolved in 3 tablespoons boiling water and fold into cake mixture.

5Bake in large loaf or two layer pans, 35 to 40 minutes at 350°.

6Serve 10.
