  • 3 c. plain flour
  • 4 tsp. baking powder
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 egg, slightly beaten
  • 1/4 c. melted shortening
  • 1 1/2 c. milk
  • 1 Tbsp. vanilla
  • 1 1/2 c. chopped nuts

Directions

    Combine flour, baking powder, salt and sugar; mix well and set aside.

    Mix rest of ingredients then add to dry ingredients.

    Bake at 350° for 30 to 40 minutes in loaf pans.
