  • 1 can whole water chestnuts
  • 1/4 c. cider vinegar
  • 1/2 c. soy sauce
  • bacon strips
  • brown sugar

Directions

    Soak chestnuts in vinegar, soy sauce and liquid from can. Soak several hours.

    Drain.

    Rub each strip of bacon with brown sugar.

    Cut each strip into thirds. Wrap each chestnut with a piece of bacon, sugar side in.

    Secure with toothpick.

    Bake at 350° for 30 minutes.

    (Use a baking rack to prevent sticking and allow grease to drain.)
