Ingredients

  • 2 cups plain flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 pinches salt
  • 4 tablespoons butter (not margarine)
  • water

Directions

    Sift the flour and baking powder into a bowl, add the salt.

    Rub the butter through the flour until it resembles bread crumbs.

    Stir in just enough water to make a firm dough.

    Roll out on a lightly floured bench.

    Cut rounds using a small biscuit cutter.

    Using a floured rolling pin, roll each round into thin ovals.

    Place on to a greased, baking tray and prick them all over with a fork.

    Bake in a 220C oven until puffed and golden.
