- 3 1/2 lb. watermelon rind
- 4 lb. sugar
- 1 pt. vinegar
- 8 drops oil of cloves
- 16 drops oil of cinnamon
Directions

1Peel green rind off and all the pink of watermelon rinds. Soak rind in cold water for 24 hours.

2(The white part cut off the rind.)

3Drain and cover with clear water.

4Add piece of alum.

5Boil until rind is clear; drain.
