- 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 2 Tbsp. cold water
- 1/2 c. boiling water
- 1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
- 3 egg whites
- 1/3 c. sugar
Directions

1Mix together cornstarch and cold water in small saucepan.

2Stir in boiling water.

3Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly for about 2 minutes or until thickened.

4Remove from heat and cool. Add cream of tartar to egg whites, beat until soft peaks form. Gradually add sugar and continue beating.

5Add cornstarch mixture all at once.

6Beat until well blended and very stiff.

7Spread over pie filling and bake 15 to 18 minutes in 350° oven until lightly brown.
