- 1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
- 1/4 c. light corn syrup
- 1/2 c. water
- 1 tsp. salt
- 3/4 c. cocktail peanuts
- 1/4 tsp. baking soda
- 2 Tbsp. margarine
- 5 c. Corn Chex cereal
Directions

1Heat brown sugar, corn syrup, water and salt to 250° (hard-ball) in heavy 4-quart saucepan over medium heat.

2Add nuts. Continue cooking over low heat to 285° (brittle in cold water).

3Stir constantly.

4Remove from heat.

5Mix in soda and margarine.

6Stir in Chex to coat all pieces.

7Work quickly!

8Spread on greased baking sheet.

9Separate into thin layer with greased fork.

10Cool.

11Break into bite-size pieces.

12Makes about 1 pound.
