- 2 3/4 c. all-purpose flour
- 2 pkg. yeast
- 1/2 c. wheat germ
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 c. warm water
- 1/4 c. molasses
- 2 Tbsp. shortening
- 1 egg
Directions

1In large mixer bowl combine 1 1/2 cups flour, yeast, wheat germ and salt, mix well.

2Add water, molasses, shortening and egg. Beat 3 minutes at medium speed.

3By hand gradually stir in remaining flour to make a stiff batter.

4Cover.

5Let rise in warm place until light, about 45 minutes.

6Bake at 375° for 35 to 40 minutes until deep brown.

7Remove from pan, cool.
