  • 2 sticks whipped margarine
  • 3 c. plain flour
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 c. Crisco
  • 5 large eggs
  • 1 c. milk
  • 1 tsp. lemon flavoring

    Grease and flour tube pan.

    Preheat oven to 325°.

    Using electric mixer, mix sugar, margarine, Crisco and eggs; mix very well.

    Be sure to use whipped margarine; it's the secret to the cake because no baking powder or soda is used.

    Add flour and milk, then flavoring.

    Bake at 325° for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
