- 2 pkg. yeast
- 1/2 c. warm water
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1/4 c. shortening
- 2 tsp. salt
- 3 1/2 c. warm water
- 11 c. flour (approximately)
Directions

1Dissolve yeast in 1/2 cup warm water for 5 minutes in mixer. Add sugar, shortening, salt and 3 1/2 cups warm water.

2Mix.

3Add yeast mixture.

4Add 2 cups flour and beat in mixer until smooth. With a spoon, add 8 or 9 more cups of flour.

5Knead until smooth and let rise until double in size.

6Knead down; let rise again. Make 3 or 4 loaves.

7Let rise again.
-
8Bake in a 400° oven for 45 to 60 minutes.
