- 2 pkg. active dry yeast
- 3/4 c. warm water (105~ to 115~)
- 2 2/3 c. warm water
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 3 Tbsp. shortening
- 9 to 10 c. flour
Directions

1Dissolve yeast into 3/4 cup warm water.

2Stir in 2 2/3 cups warm water, sugar, salt, shortening and 5 cups of the flour.

3Beat until smooth.

4Mix in enough remaining flour to make dough easy to handle.

5Turn dough onto lightly floured board, knead until smooth and elastic.

6Cover.
-
7Let rise in warm place until double, about 1 hour.

8(Dough is ready if impression remains.)
