- 5 1/2 to 6 c. bread flour
- 3 Tbsp. sugar
- 2 tsp. salt
- 2 pkg. yeast
- 2 c. water
- 1/4 c. shortening
Directions

1Combine 2 cups flour, sugar, salt and yeast.

2Blend well.

3Heat water and shortening (to 120° to 130°).

4Add water mixture to flour mixture.

5Blend at low speed, then medium speed for 3 minutes. Stir in remaining flour until soft and pliable.

6Knead 5 to 10 minutes.

7Place in greased bowl.

8Cover with clean cloth and let dough rise until doubled (1 to 1 1/2 hours).

9Punch down dough, removing all air bubbles.

10Divide in half.

11Shape into 2 loaves. Place in greased bread loaf pans.

12Rise until dough is 1-inch above edge of pan.
