  • 1 1/2 c. cold water
  • 4 egg whites, stiffly beaten
  • 3 c. cake flour
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. butter

    Cream butter and sugar; add flour and water alternately to sugar mixture; add vanilla; fold in egg whites.
