  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup butter
  • 3 cups flour
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 3 Tbsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 cup milk
  • 5 egg whites, beaten stiff
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts, optional

Directions

    Mix well all ingredients excluding the beaten egg whites and walnuts. Fold in the egg whites and nuts. Pour into greased and floured 9 X 13 pan. Bake at 350° for 50-55 minutes or until cake tests done. Frost with your favorite icing.
