- 1/4 lb. white chocolate
- 1 c. butter or oleo
- 1/2 c. boiling water
- 2 c. sugar
- 4 eggs, separated
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 1/2 c. cake flour
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 c. buttermilk
- 1 c. pecans or almond pieces
- 1 c. flaked coconut
Directions

1Melt chocolate in boiling water.

2Cream together butter and sugar until fluffy.

3Add 4 egg yolks (beaten) and mix well.

4Add chocolate mixture to creamed mixture.

5Sift and measure flour. Sift again with soda.

6Add alternately with buttermilk.

7Fold in 4 stiffly beaten egg whites.

8Gently fold in nuts and coconut.
-
9Pour into 3 greased and floured 9-inch cake pans.

10Bake in 350° oven 30 minutes or until done.
