Ingredients

  • 1 lb. confectioners sugar
  • 1 lb. butter
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 c. milk
  • 3 c. flour
  • 3 tsp. baking powder
  • 3 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 c. whiskey
  • 1 lb. cherries (red)
  • 1/2 lb. cherries (green)
  • 1 lb. mixed fruit
  • 1/2 lb. pineapple
  • 1/2 lb. coconut

Directions

    Cream sugar, butter and eggs.

    Add milk, vanilla and coconut. Add cut up fruit that has been soaking in 1/2 cup whiskey.

    Add cut up nuts.

    Sift flour and baking powder.

    Add to fruit mixture and mix by hand with wooden spoon until all is blended well.

    Bake at 300° to 325° for 1 1/2 hours in 4 aluminum bread pans that have been lined with wax paper.
