- 3 c. sugar
- 1/3 c. light corn syrup
- 1 1/2 c. walnuts or pecans
- 2 Tbsp. butter
- 1 c. dairy sour cream
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 1/4 tsp. salt
Directions

1Combine sugar, sour cream, syrup, salt and butter in a 2-quart heavy saucepan.

2Stir over moderate heat until sugar is dissolved and mixture boils.

3Cover and cook slowly five minutes.

4Uncover and boil rapidly to soft ball stage, 238°.

5Let stand until cold. Add vanilla and beat until candy loses its gloss and begins to hold its shape.

6Stir in nuts and turn into a buttered pan.

7Cut in squares when set.

8Makes about 2 1/4 pounds.
