- 2 1/2 c. granulated sugar
- 1/2 c. sour cream
- 1/4 c. milk
- 2 Tbsp. butter
- 1 Tbsp. light corn syrup
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. chopped nuts
Directions

1Combine sugar, sour cream, milk, butter, corn syrup and salt in heavy 2-quart saucepan.

2Stir over moderate heat until sugar is dissolved and mixture reaches a boil.

3Boil over moderate heat 9 to 10 minutes to soft ball stage (238°).

4Remove from heat and allow to stand until lukewarm.

5Add vanilla and heat until mixture just begins to lose its gloss and holds its shape.

6Requires very little beating.

7Quickly stir in walnuts; turn into buttered pan. Let set until firm before cutting.

8Makes 1 1/2 pounds.
