- 2 1/2 c. flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 c. butter or margarine
- 2 c. sugar
- 4 eggs, separated
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. buttermilk
- 1/4 lb. white chocolate
- 1 c. chopped pecans
- 1 c. flaked coconut
Directions

1Melt chocolate in double boiler.

2Sift and measure sugar.

3Add baking powder and salt to sugar and sift again.

4Soften butter or margarine.

5Cream with sugar mixture until light and fluffy.

6Add egg yolks and beat thoroughly.

7Add melted chocolate and vanilla and beat again.

8Add flour and buttermilk alternately, and beat after each addition.

9Fold in beaten egg whites.

10Stir in nuts and coconut.

11Bake in two 9-inch pans at 350° for 45 minutes.
