- 2 c. white sugar
- 1 c. water
- 2 egg whites
- 1/8 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
Directions

1Cook without stirring sugar and water until thread spins. Beat until stiff egg whites and salt.

2Add syrup in thin stream over egg whites, beating continuously.

3When nearly all of syrup is added, add cream of tartar, then add remaining syrup.

4Beat until it will hold its shape and nearly cool.
