- 2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. sour cream
- 1/3 c. white syrup
- 2 Tbsp. butter
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 1/4 c. chopped red and green candied cherries
- 1 c. coarsely chopped walnuts
Directions

1Combine first 5 ingredients in saucepan.

2Bring to a boil slowly, stirring until sugar dissolves.

3Boil without stirring over medium heat to 236° on candy thermometer or until a little mixture dropped into cold water forms a soft ball.

4Remove from heat and let stand 15 minutes.

5Do not stir; add flavoring.

6Beat until mixture starts to lose its gloss (about 8 minutes).

7Stir in the candied cherries and walnuts and quickly pour into greased (with butter) shallow pan; cool and cut into squares.
