- 1/2 c. butter or margarine
- 2 c. uncooked white rice
- 2 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 2 cans beef consomme
- 2 c. water
- 1/2 c. chopped blanched almonds
Directions

1Melt butter in large frying pan; add rice.

2Cook over very slow fire, stirring often, until rice is golden brown.

3Place in 2-quart casserole.

4Sprinkle on seasonings.

5When ready to bake, add consomme, water and nuts.

6Mix gently.

7Cover and bake at 300° for 1 hour and 15 minutes.

8Do not stir.

9Serves 10.
