- 2 c. sifted flour
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 1/2 c. fresh cranberries
- 1 c. chopped walnuts
- 3/4 c. orange juice
- 2 Tbsp. melted shortening
- 1 egg, slightly beaten
Directions

1Sift together first five ingredients.

2Add and mix cranberries and walnuts thoroughly to cook.

3Heat orange juice.

4Add shortening and egg.
-
5Blend into dry ingredients, mixing until just blended.

6Pour into well-greased 9 x 5-inch loaf pan.

7Bake in 350° oven 1 hour.

8Remove from pan to cool.
-
9Flavor improves if bread is stored one day.
