Ingredients
- 3 c. scalded milk or reconstituted dry milk and water, lukewarm
- 6 Tbsp. melted shortening or oil
- 6 Tbsp. molasses or honey or brown sugar
- 4 tsp. salt
- 2 pkg. dry yeast, dissolved in lukewarm water
- 7 or 8 c. whole wheat flour
Directions

1Place milk in large bowl.

2Mix in shortening, molasses and salt.

3Add yeast mixture.

4Gradually mix in flour.

5Let stand for 20 to 30 minutes, then knead for about 10 minutes or until smooth. Let rise until double in bulk in a greased bowl, covered with a damp cloth, about 1 1/2 hours at room temperature.

6Knead lightly and form into loaves.

7Makes 2 large or 3 small loaves.

8Put in well-greased pan.

9Let rise until almost double (about 1 hour). Bake at 375° for 40 minutes for small loaves, 50 minutes for larger loaves, or until done.

10Can add raisins, if you like. Delicious.
