Ingredients
- 2/3 c. warm water
- 2 pkg. dry yeast
- 1 Tbsp. brown sugar
- 2 c. warm water
- 2 Tbsp. soft shortening
- 2 Tbsp. brown sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 c. whole wheat flour
- 2 c. white flour
Directions

1Put warm water and dry yeast into small bowl.

2Add brown sugar.

3Let stand until it bubbles.

4Mix well in large bowl:

5warm water, shortening, brown sugar, salt, wheat flour and white flour. Let rise for 30 minutes.

6(This will be soft.)

7Now add 2 more cups white flour and knead until smooth and elastic.

8Let rise until double.

9Punch down.
-
10Make into loaves.

11Bake at 375° for 30 minutes.

12Makes 3 medium loaves.
