Ingredients
- 1 c. milk
- 1/2 c. maple syrup
- 1/4 c. butter
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 pkg. dry yeast
- 1 1/2 c. warm water
- 2 1/2 c. flour
- 5 to 5 1/2 c. whole wheat flour
Directions

1Heat milk, syrup, butter, sugar and salt until warm and butter is almost melted.

2In large bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water. Let sit five minutes.

3Add warm milk mixture and 2 1/2 cups flour, beat well.

4Add 2 1/2 cups wheat flour, beat about 4 minutes or until smooth.

5Stir in 1 1/2 cups wheat flour, turn out onto floured surface and knead until smooth, about 5 minutes, using rest of wheat flour.

6Place dough in greased bowl, turn up, cover and let rise until doubled.

7Punch down, divide in half, shape into 2 balls.

8Cover, let rest 10 minutes.

9Shape into 2 loaves, place in 2 greased loaf pans.

10Cover, let rise until double.

11Bake at 400° for 25 to 30 minutes.
