  • 1 lb. bulk sausage
  • 1/4 c. salad oil
  • 1/2 tsp. basil leaves, crumbled
  • 1 c. plain croutons
  • 5 c. romaine, torn into bits
  • 5 c. iceberg lettuce, torn into bits
  • 2/3 c. vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 c. sliced green onion
  • 1/2 c. sliced ripe olives
  • 4 Tbsp. sugar (added to dressing, optional)

Directions

    In skillet cook sausage, stirring to separate into bits. Remove meat.

    Pour off all but 1/4 cup of fat drippings.

    Add vinegar, oil, Worcestershire sauce and basil. Heat until boiling.
