- 4 to 5 slices bacon, cut into 1-inch slices
- 1 small chopped onion
- 2 lb. beef, cut into 1-inch pieces, floured
- 1 can consomme soup
- 3/4 c. sherry or wine
- 1 sliced onion
- 3 sliced carrots
Directions

1Brown bacon with chopped onion in pan, then place in casserole dish. Cut beef, then brown in bacon fat. Add beef to casserole. Put soup and sherry in pan.

2Slice onion and carrots into liquid and bring to a boil.

3Pour over meat in casserole and place in oven at 300° for 3 hours.

4Serve with mashed potatoes and green beans.
