- 6 c. self-rising flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1 1/2 pkg. quick rise yeast
- 1 c. warm water
- 1/3 c. sugar
- 2 c. buttermilk
- 3/4 c. oil
Directions

1Dissolve sugar and yeast in warm water in small bowl.

2Set aside until rises.

3Add to dry ingredients, along with buttermilk. Mix until blended well and kind of sticky.

4Set aside in warm place.

5Mixture will rise twice its bulk.

6Punch down and let rise second time.

7Then cut or squeeze off biscuits.

8Bake in 400° oven until brown, 10 to 12 minutes.
