- 3 to 3 1/2 c. unsifted self-rising flour
- 1 cake yeast or 1 pkg. dry yeast
- 1/4 c. lukewarm water
- 1 c. hot diluted evaporated milk
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 2 Tbsp. vegetable shortening
Directions

1Soften yeast in lukewarm water.

2Pour hot milk over sugar and shortening; cool to lukewarm.

3Add 1/2 cup flour and mix thoroughly.

4Stir in softened yeast and half of remaining flour; beat thoroughly.

5Add enough flour to form a soft dough.
